Thunder Storms Past Bobcats 114-69

Possibly the only bright spot of the night...

When you're hot, you're hot. When you're not, you're the Bobcats playing the NBA Finals runner-up Thunder. This was a nightmare of a game to watch. My oldest son said there was no point in watching and that the Bobcats were going to lose. I explained that in order to write a game recap, I had to watch. He suggested that I just make something up. Horror stories are not my forte, so I decided to watch it all.
I watched last season, so watching tonight was painful. I would expect no less from these young Bobcats and a rookie coach. Every lineup possible was thrown at the Thunder. We were running without Hendo, Biz, or Thomas. We aren't missing Thomas, but we are missing the first 2. Final score was 114-69

We played a team tonight that was built as we are being built now. It would stand to reason that our team would be very weak in comparison. Half way through the 3rd, with a 50-point lead, the Thunder put in their bench. The Bobcats did what all they could, but it was far from enough. When the Thunder have bombed in 9 3-pointers by 6 minutes into the 3rd...well...it isn't pretty. The 24-point first half the Bobcats put up let you know that we have a good way to go.
Bench vs Bench wasn't any prettier. Overall it was like watching an NBA 2k13 game where a video game whiz is just killing...well...me
How may times in my head can I calculate if the Thunder's point total doubles our total. I can't even begin to critique the team. We shot sub-30% on the night to the Thunder who were north of 50%.

I give Cory Higgins the Trade Street Post Game-breaker award. He was efficient while he was in the game, and hopefully this will be one of the few times he's even eligible to win it. If he's winning it, we were in garbage time...bad garbage.

Don't hang your heads Bobcats fans. It was an ugly game, but hopefully Dunlap can teach the team from what they saw tonight. Games like these have been expected this year. It wasn't expected by casual fans to be this bad, but I've been waiting. Our wins haven't really came against tons of NBA powerhouses. Tonight was the first powerhouse we have faced. We learn from it and we move on. Hang with us Bobcats fans. We'll continue to be fun to watch. Tonight was just one of those nights that wasn't very fun.
